Community Development
Community development aims to equip the people with the ability to create positive social impact in the society through education, relationship building and resourcing. Our aim is to help communities become sufficient and progressive through instilling the culture of perseverance, dedication and passion. Our training and services involve identifying talents and resources within communities and help them get the best out of them.
Roles of community development program
The key role of a community development practitioner is to resource and empower the community. We do this through various actions and activities, which change depending on the context. We support community members through the provision of information needed to identify issues and plan actions. This could include sharing information on local data, good practice around particular identified issues, and relevant programs and resources that are available. We also connect with and build local networks and leaders, undertake community engagement and plan, deliver and evaluate projects and programs. We have a focus on facilitation, education, capability building and resourcing skills.
